Hattie Percha wants nothing more than to live a normal life with all the 1969 high school milestones: pep rallies with her best friends Crackers and Beverly, a date to the Homecoming Dance, and maybe even a steady boyfriend. She hopes to fade into the background and leave her previous life of activism behind. But giving up her social conscience proves harder than she imagined. When Crackers’ step-brother Isaac goes MIA in Vietnam, Hattie can’t ignore the pull to learn more about the war and bring Isaac home safely. She organizes a Moratorium Day at her high school in seek of definitive answers, only to discover there are no good solutions to the burning questions of the time.

Steeped rich with memories and the confusion of 1960s’ America, Battle Linesis sure to make you laugh uncontrollably, think intensely, and feel penetrating heartache. Sometimes the answers most sought after are painfully elusive.
