What Would Erma Do?

You met Gayle Carline on my blog at Christmastime when she guested here. She’s written two humorous mysteries, Freezer Burn and its sequel Hit or Missus. The main character in both books is Peri Minneopa, a housekeeper who trades her business for a P.I. license. Curious by nature, she sticks her nose all kinds of places it doesn’t belong. Her hilarious antics are made all the more ridiculous in Freezer Burn by her client, Benny Needles, who has discovered a severed hand in his freezer. Peri is convinced that a body was once attached to this hand and sets out to solve the mystery. Benny claims he’s innocent. One crazy scenario leads to another. And when it comes right down to it, Peri‚Äôs goal is a dirty martini. A light and funny read, I highly recommend it.

The sequel, Hit or Missus, is equally entertaining. Benny Needles is back and Peri is up to her eyeballs in coincidences. Peri never ceases to disappoint. Well worth the read, I’m anxious for Gayle to write another book in this series. Hurry up, girlfriend.

While I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these two light mysteries, I am more fired up about Gayle’s two other books, What Would Erma Do? and Are You There, Erma? It’s Me Gayle. These are compilations of her humor columns in which she shares the rigors of family life. Easy to read, Gayle’s columns supply with me with a daily dose of laughter. Both are available in Kindle format through Amazon and take just enough time to read. Often times, I find myself reaching for my Kindle while I’m cooking dinner or after a grueling day teaching. Gayle kicks my stress level in the butt after reading just one of her columns. Truth be told, I’ve read some of them more than once. They are hilarious and a must read for anyone who lives with a husband and kids!

Thanks, Gayle, for keeping me laughing!!!!
